چکیده

In the present study, 62 endophytic bacterial strains of cedar seeds (Cedrela odorataL.), collected in municipalities Huehuetán, Motozintla, and Pijijiapan state Chiapas, Mexico were isolated. The goal was to identify characteristics biotechnological interest such as biocontrol, promotion plant growth, growth aromatic compounds. identified by partial sequence 16S ribosomal gene belonging Bacillusgenus. biocontrol capacity phytopathogenic fungi, production indoleacetic acid (IAA), solubilization phosphate, xenobiotic compounds (phenanthrene, benzene, anthracene, or phenol) detected 26 isolates. 21 % inhibited mycelial Alternaria solaniand Fusariumsp., 13 Phytophthora capsicioomycete. IAA 24 isolates, phosphate solubilizing activity 18 while ability grow presence phenanthrene benzene found isolates; isolates grew anthracene only two phenol carbon sources. This is first report isolation identification bacteria from seeds, where for biological control,

In vitro rhizogenesis: histoanatomy of Cedrela odorata (Meliaceae) microcuttings.

Cedrela odorata (Meliaceae) is considered as one of the most valuable forest tree in the tropics. Clonal propagation of this species provide an alternative method to propagate superior genotypes, being the production of good quality adventitious roots one of the most important steps in micropropagation techniques. The sequence of anatomical changes that takes place during the formation of adven...

The tree Cedrela odorata (Meliaceae): a morphologically subdivided species in Costa Rica.

In Latin America. Cedrela odorata is a wide ranging species that occurs in several environments, where it shows significant morphological variation. A common garden experiment was established with seedlings from 63 families of ten populations from two habitat types (mesic and dry), distributed throughout Costa Rica, to examine the relationships between quantitative variation and site of populat...

Chloroplast DNA phylogeography reveals colonization history of a Neotropical tree, Cedrela odorata L., in Mesoamerica.

Spanish Cedar (Cedrela odorata L.) is a globally important timber species which has been severely exploited in Mesoamerica for over 200 years. Using polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphisms, its chloroplast (cp) DNA phylogeography was studied in Mesoamerica with samples from 29 populations in six countries. Five haplotypes were characterized, phylogenetically grouped ...

Pharmacological and Genotoxic Properties of Polyphenolic Extracts of Cedrela odorata L. and Juglans regia L. Barks in Rodents

Evaluation of the phenolic compounds and antioxidant activity of Cedrela odorata L. and Juglans regia L. bark extracts was performed in vitro. Juglans regia showed greater extract concentration and higher antioxidant activity. Hypoglycemic activity in rats was assessed by generating a glucose tolerance curve and determining the area under the curve (AUC). Diabetes was later induced by an inject...

Bioactivity of endophytic bacteria and yeasts isolated from Thymus

Endophytes are important resources of bioactive compounds and due to their potential in theproduction of secondary metabolites, they are regarded as a potential reservoir ofbiotechnological applications. In this study, the bioactivity of bacteria and yeasts endophytesresiding in Thymus sp. was evaluated. During April to October 2011, symptomless and healthytissues of Thymus sp. were collected. ...
